Once you have setup your VPN connection, you will need to connect to you machine in the office. For this, you will need to install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection client and set this up.
Launch the App Store on your MAC
Search for Microsoft Remote Desktop and click to install. If you already have it installed, click on Open. You might also have an older version, make sure you install the latest version of the software.
Once you install the application you will get a series of windows asking for approval to access information. Click on Continue to keep the installation going.
You will get a pop up asking to send you notification, click on Allow
You will get a pop up asking for Microsoft Remote Desktop to access the camera. Click on OK.
You will get a pop up asking for Microsoft Remote Desktop to access the microphone. Click on OK.
Once you have accepted the pop ups, you should get the Microsoft Remote Desktop screen as shown below. Click on Add PC to add a new machine.
You will now need to enter the information below to connect to your machine in the office or hosted environment. We will provide the information that you need in order to connect. In the Friendly Name field, just enter something to call you computer.
In the display settings, you shouldn’t need to change anything else. If you have a high resolution retina display, selecting this option might help (But i haven’t had a unit to test this with).
In the Devices and Audio settings, just leave this as is.
Click on Add to add the machine to the list. You should see it appear like the following image. To connect to it, make sure you have connected to the VPN and then double click on the icon My Office Machine.
After you double click on the machine, you should get a prompt to connect to your machine in the office. This is just your standard login, and doesn’t require your two factor authentication code.
