Registering your new Sophos VPN Account

This page will help you setup your VPN account with the new VPN Portal Access. Firstly, you will need to browse to the URL for your VPN Portal page. This will have been included with you setup notes which were emailed to you.

You will need to log into this page to setup your MFA, download the new Sophos Client and obtain your new VPN Connection File. If you haven’t already setup your MFA, please login using your usual username and password that you log into the server with. Once you log in for the first time, you will see a screen similar to the following

Once you have the page above, you will need to scan the QR Code using an Authenticator Software. We recommend using the Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator or InterceptX from Sophos. If using the Microsoft Authenticator, tap on the plus symbol, and choose other. Use the device’s camera to scan the QR code, which should add a new MFA entry to your Authenticator screen. Once you have done that, click on the Proceed to login which is at the top left of the page.

Once again, login using the same credentials you use when you are in the office. The only change you need to remember now is to add the MFA code to the end of your password. Lets say you password was Apples4$Candy, and your MFA code was 123423. Then for the password, you would enter Apples4$Candy123423 as your password (essentially your password plus the MFA code). Once you do that, you should see a screen similar to the following.

Once you have reached this page, you will need to download the correct apps for your device. If you have a Windows machine, please download the Sophos Connect client for Windows, and then download the SSL VPN configuration for use with the Sophos Connect client.

Next you need to install the Sophos Connect client. Run the installer, which will be called something like SophosConnect_2.5.0_GA(IPSec_and_SSLVPN).exe

Once you launch it, please accept the End User License agreement and install the software. All you need to do is click Install and follow the prompts to finish installing. There is no need to change any settings during the setup.

Once the installation has finished, make sure to click on the Launch Sophos Connect and then click on Finish.

The Sophos Connect application will launch in the Windows System Tray. Next, you need to import your SSL VPN settings. To do this, just double click the sslvpn-xxxxxx@xxxxx.xxx-client-config.ovpn file and it will add it to your Sophos Connect application.

This will install the settings required for Sophos Connect to connect to your work place. To make your connection, find the Sophos Connect client in your system tray.

Click on that, and it will open the Sophos Connect application.

Once in there, you will see your office connection under the list of connections. Click on Connect up the top of the application. If you have more than one selection, choose the correct one and then Click on Connect.

Type in your username and password. Please make sure to add the MFA code to the end of your password just like you did earlier. Once you have done that, click on Sign in. Provided everything is correct, it should connect and show the result as follows
